We can’t say enough about how wonderful our experience was with Pawsitive Beginnings! Our dog Archer struggled with high-energy, reactivity, and pulling on walks. We worked with Lateria for a few in-home sessions before it was decided that a board-and-train program would be the best fit. We were nervous about sending Archer away for a month, but we had no reason to be! Lateria regularly kept us updated with texts, pictures, and videos, and really made us feel like part of Archer’s training even while he was away. When he returned home, Lateria helped us transition him and provided us with lots of skills to work on. We have seen a huge improvement in Archer’s ability to calm himself, channel his energy into positive outlets, and walk nicely on a leash. Equally importantly, Lateria give us the tools to train ourselves and build a more trusting relationship with Archer. Thank you!

Working with Lateria on leash training walks has been a huge insight for me and my husband. We had done group classes before where our puppy learned basic skills, but from working with Lateria, we can see we lacked the leadership to help our dog utilize those skills in high stress situations, like when our dog sees a squirrel or friend he really wants to meet on our walks. We have learned some key techniques and tools we can use- without excessive treats we relied on before- to help our dog stay calm in those situations and have Lateria with her methods and patience for humans to thank. I strongly recommend Pawsitive Beginnings Pet Care!

Lateria is a wonderful trainer. She is very prompt, all the way from her response time to showing up for appointments. I’ve only had one session with her to evaluate what I thought was pure aggression with my Mini Aussie Callie, and one session was all it took to figure out how to help and control her. I cried with relief after I spoke to Lateria. We have 2 dogs, both with anxiety shown in different ways; Thanos is shaky and scared of the wind… Raymond is nervous and aggressively barks/lunges at kids, adults and other dogs. Ray also ate everything in our home!
Lateria came out to meet us ON EASTER!! She explained techniques to start with, allowing us to take control and be the leaders of the house. They both go for Pupcation this weekend and I’ve never been so relieved… leaving town was always SO stressful. I see a light at the end of the tunnel!
I saw people mentioning that the consultation is $25. I run my own business as well and understand that time is money. Lateria collects all info needed so that she, you and your dog isn’t in danger at your first session. Well worth it. I’d highly recommend Pawsitive Beginnings!!!

We love knowing our 10 month old lab pup Bruno is in good hands when we have to travel or if he just needs a day to be with some of his fur friends! Lateria is great with him and sends us pics on his progress! This truly gives us peace of mind knowing he is being well taken care of while we are gone and the training continues!
​I can not speak highly enough of Lateria with Pawsitive Beginnings. Due to her and her patience I was able to keep my family together. She helped train my two older dogs to respect space and boundaries when I had a newborn. Now my son and Bennett have the best relationship.

​As a first-time dog owner of a working breed rescue pup, I had felt like I had hit a wall with training on my own after about a year. Lateria was recommended to me by a friend, and I am so glad I made the decision to start training with her. Even from our initial consultation call, I could tell she was really listening and thinking through everything I was telling her about my dog's behaviors, and how we could best work together to address them. In our first in-home training session, Lateria was able to provide some really helpful pointers to correct what I was currently doing to manage my dog, and other commands that I could start working with her on that would help her food aggression and separation anxiety.
Lateria has a wonderful training philosophy and is very realistic about training goals, which I also really appreciate. Even after just one in-home training session, I have noticed improvements following her training pointers. Another training service Pawsitive Beginnings provides that drew me to them is their Pupcation service, where Lateria is able to reinforce training and provide your dog a safe and loving place to stay while you are out of town--a service we fully intend on using in the future. From working with her these past couple of months, I know she is someone I can trust with my pup while I am away. I would highly recommend Lateria to anyone who is looking to strengthen their relationship and bond with their dog!
